Cambridge Network is excited to announce that for the 7th consecutive year, the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET) has granted Full F-1 Inbound Listing to Cambridge Network’s homestay services in its 2020-2021 Advisory List!
CSIET’s mission is to evaluate and certify long-term international student exchange programs at the secondary level. CSIET accredits those organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to their standards of excellence, engagement in the development and sharing of community preferred practices, and advancement of the educational value of international student exchange. The Full Certification status was granted to Cambridge Network based on its full compliance with the standards set forth by CSIET for International Educational Travel Programs.
The CSIET standards are acknowledged as the international education industry’s benchmark of excellence by exchange programs, schools, and international education organizations. When applied consistently in the provision of homestay management and services, the best practices ensure student safety and well-being throughout the exchange tenure of international students living with host families in the US.
To receive a full listing, programs must receive an overall average score of 85% or higher for all audit items in addition to 85% or better in each of the following areas:
- High School Enrollment
- Host Family Screening
- Monthly Contact
- Staff Screening
The compliance audits process is conducted by independent certified public accountants who review a representative sample of program participant files for compliance with the given standards. Compliance is assessed through a review of relevant documentation in student and host family files. The process typically takes three months, from December until February.
