Now that your students have lived in America for a while, they probably have some interesting stories to tell. And we want to hear them!
We have created the “My Journey to the West” contest so your students can tell their stories and experiences while in the U.S., and so that other students who haven’t yet made the trip can learn what to expect.
Students are welcome to submit an essay (in English) or a video, but the most important thing is that the story conveys a unique experience in the U.S. We want to hear about their academic, social, campus, or residential life, along with what happened to them, and what they learned.
Please be sure their entries are positive and motivating—we want them to be an inspiration for future international students! Also, please advocate that their entry is entirely original; plagiarism will result in disqualification.
Be sure to encourage students to mention Cambridge Network in any submission, and explain how the program benefited them and helped them grow as a student and as a world citizen. The winners’ submissions will be promoted on Cambridge Network’s social media platform.
We host this contest twice per year. This spring contest is for freshman through junior students, and the upcoming fall one is for seniors to share their college preparation experiences. Please find a downloadable version of the contest flyer for more detailed info.
